Customized Float Solutions

Existing docks and marine facilities can have challenges as they age. Buoyancy can change, docks can list, floatation can be damaged, heavy objects can be added. These changes can be address by adding supplemental floatation. BARR Plastics has a selection of roto-molded, hollow, thick walled floats that can be filled with water and submerged under existing docks and floating structures. Once the floats are in place air can be pumped in to displace the water and lift the floating structure into a level position. The floats in the photo will be used to level an existing concrete dock that has had a heavy steel ramp added to it. At BARR we have a full service plastic fabrication shop that allows us to do any most types of modifications. In this case two 2" FNPT fittings were welded into to the bottom of each float. These fittings will have valves installed so once the water is pumped out the valves will be close to prevent water from re-entering the floats.
