Customize your Revit Room Tags
Have you ever wanted to re-position the room tags that Revit creates when placing rooms? By default, the room tag will be positioned at the reference point of the room itself. The room's reference point is the intersection of that "X" that goes through the middle of the room. When you are placing a room, you click a point (usually within a closed space) to create the room and wherever you click, the "X" occurs at the location you pick. The tag will end up in this spot as well.
Well tags (including room tags) do not have to stay in the default location. You can easily move them around with the move command or by simply dragging them. But unlike other tags, if you attempt to move a room tag outside of its room boundary, it will generate an error and fail to display its associated parameters.
Unless you know the trick! Simply check the box on the Options Bar to enable the leader with the tag and it will restore its connection to the room data and happily allow placement anywhere in the view. Like any annotation element, you can edit the type properties to choose the arrowhead you want to display when the leader is enabled. I like the solid filled dot.

8 年Cool tip Paul Aubin! I use a similar process for tagging framing elements (short beams) where space is tight. I enable the leader there is an additional step choose Free End.
