Customer is more than God
Customer engagement is about encouraging your customers to interact and share in the experiences you create for them as a business and a brand. When executed well, a strong customer engagement strategy will foster brand growth and loyalty. Businesses that focus on customer engagement are focused on value creation, not revenue extraction. They give people something meaningful beyond a sales pitch: a brilliant end-to-end customer experience, great content, or interactive, real-time customer support. Customer engagement is an ongoing interaction between a brand and its customers. It is a process of actively building, nurturing, and managing relationships with customers. This means every communication of a brand is geared towards what customers want from it. Whether it’s a small, medium, or a large organization, every business has something to gain from customer engagement.

In this blog, we are going to list down few points discussing why Customer engagement is important and how it helps a business to grow.
1. Customers are the ones who become the ambassador of your business.
If your customers are satisfied, then trust us they are going to spread it by word of mouth. Social media posts about restaurants and Instagram tagging are one of the trends which let others know about the place and the speciality of the business. Same with products, if people genuinely like your stuff they are going to promote it among their friends and family members. Most of the businesses which get popular with a customer engagement are beauty services, boutiques, restaurants etc.
2. Engaged customers become your long-term business partner.
In our previous blogs, we have listed few points on how to maintain a customer relationship for a long run. It is very important for a business to retain a customer and by engaging customers by providing discounts or building a personal relationship, customers tend to return to you. Building trust among the customers is very important for any kind of business.
3. Customers help you improve your business and to grow it.
If you are doing something incorrectly in your business, customers are the one to help you improvise it and are going to purchase the better version of it. This is the reason many companies ask for feedback and what all customers demand. Products are improved keeping in mind customer’s demand.
How does customer engagement work?
In the past, the best way to engage with consumers was through television and radio. However, in the age of mobile technology and social media, brands now have more choices than ever to reach out to their potential customers. Here are a few strategies to consider when it comes to strengthening your customers’ relationship with your brand.
Content Marketing
It is content that helps craft a unique story and narrative about a brand. Content marketing drives your unique value and subtly persuades clients to choose your brand over others. Content marketing is a key component of driving customer engagement. It answers the unanswered questions of your consumers and focuses on their wants, emotions, and likes. Regular blogs, articles, email newsletters and email updates not only educate customers but also help in promoting your business.
Website
A company’s website is often the first touch point for new visitors coming to learn more about its services. It is also the primary resource for existing customers to stay updated on latest developments and updates. A website can make or break the image of the brand. Hence, it’s important to have a website that’s not only attractive visually but also user-friendly and mobile responsive. Apart from standard textual and visual content, interactive content is another way to engage your customers through website. Some examples of interactive content are webinars, surveys, & quizzes.
Social Media
In addition to your website, social media can and should be used as an extension of your customer engagement strategy. Needless to say, social media is huge today. Billions of people are active on social media networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. For brands, they present an enormous opportunity to engage their customers and build a loyal online community. Through social media, brands can connect with relevant people, share information, identify consumer’s unanswered questions, research influencers and promote content that will attract consumers! Regular monitoring and active engagement on social media will not only increase your brand’s visibility but will also increase your sales.
Mobile Apps
Smartphones are now an integral part of our daily lives. In this context, mobile apps can be very useful for brands to improve their customer engagement and boost revenue. Apps ensure direct communication with customers in various ways. For example, you can create a loyalty program within an app.

7 年I would not say more important than God but I get your point. This is a timely, very good article. One thing I would add is customer engagement goes beyond a customer interacting with your brand. It is also very much about involving your clients in all phases of marketing....asking for their preferences and thoughts on everything from content topics, how/when they want to be reached, what they think of your ads, why they like you, why they didn't choose you, etc. All of these findings via several in-person meetings (i.e. buyer persona study) 2x/year leads to the customer engagement you write about in your article.
