Gharapuri village is located just 10km away from Mumbai. However, the island has been without power for decades. In February 2017, power was finally received in Gharapuri village thanks to a project done by CCI Company. Raychem RPG supplied 4 sub-sea joints for this project.

The project was considered prestigious by Maharashtra Government and MSEDCL as the Gharapuri village was supposed to receive a permanent power supply for the first time. The project was individually looked after by the Chief Minister Mr Devendra Fadnavis and the Energy Minister Mr Bavankule.?

Initially, to get the power supply available 4 core single cables were placed through the sea from Nav-Sheva substation. Unfortunately, recently the 22kv,1CX95Sq.mm, cable failure occurred.?

Because the area was deprived of a 3-phase supply and water supply for a couple of days, prompt action was taken by the Raychem RPG Team. The team visited the factory last night at 11 pm, taking into consideration all the above requirements. The quality, production, and store teams visited the factory and produced 2 kits, which were inspected and dispatched to the customer at 1:30 am.
