LEAPZERO IS NOMINATED FOR THE INNOVATION AWARD 'BRONZEN SIKKEL'
The 'Bronzen Sikkel' is an innovation award presented by the organisation of the AgShow 'AgroTechniek Holland'. It's the Netherlands's largest Agfair and organized every other year. Due to covid, the previous edition was held digitally. This year we are finally meeting everyone out in the field!
The jury of the award consists of a mix of well-known dutch ag journalists: Gertjan Zevenbergen ( AgriMedia bv , Landbouwmechanisatie), Hessel Doornbos (Trekkerweb), Toon van der Stok ( Cumela , Grondig), Bas van Hattum ( Misset Uitgeverij , Trekker Global , Boerderij ) and Job Hiddink ( LTO Nederland , Nieuwe Oogst ). The announcement of the award winner will be at the first day of the show Wednesday September 14th.
What is LeapZero?
LeapZero is a technology that enables you to spray with zero emission. How? Using wind sensors placed at the outer sides of the boom. It calculates wind speed, wind direction, and it corrects for driving speed. By identifying high-risk areas and putting in field boundaries the system can automatically anticipate this.
Drift is a major topic and there are limited options to tackle it. With LeapZero we give farmers the tools to anticipate weather conditions and reduce emissions to zero. A benefit that comes with it, is that it enlarges the "window of spraying opportunity".
LeapZero is an addition to LeapBox. While LeapBox is a modular system it can be added at any time and is compatible with all LeapBox's already out in the field.
Customer interview: René Haaijer
"Spraying runs is easy now, I always have the right pressure"
Rene Haaijer is running his farm and contracting business 'Loonbedrijf Haaijer' together with his father. They are specialized in onion farming. Contracting is the core business, but they also farm 80 hectares themselves. It is their second season with LeapBox.

There are many reasons why spraying with LeapBox is easy and better.
Haaijer is ready for the future
Their current sprayer (Amazone UX, 2007) is working fine. Getting it equipped with LeapBox is taking a Leap into the future. Farming On Plant Level is just around the corner. In the future they will work with LeapEye, a camera system for real-time spraying. Now, they are benefitting from easier working and better spray quality. They also use soil scans to spray based on task maps.

Global users
BBLEAP is spreading her wings. In addition to Leapfarmers & Leapgrowers in the Netherlands, Australia, and the United Kingdom there are now farmers also taking the leap in New Zealand, Germany, and the United States. Which country do you think should be next?
Events coming up!
Meet us out in the field at one of the events coming up:
Uiendag ?? Onionday
Successful event - This week we attended the 'Onion day' in Colijnsplaat, Zeeland. A good crowd visited our stand and steered through some corners themselves with our LeapBox demoset. Thanks everyone for visiting!
Curious about how onions growers are using LeapBox? Read the customer interview of Haaijer or Evenhuis, both onion growers. Or give us a call or drop us a message. We are happy talk or think along with you!
