Custom Repair
These sterling silver bracelets came from Africa and were originally a cuff style with an opening at the points. The client wore them for years but every time she open and closed them to put them on and took them off she caused them to weaken. Eventually it weekend that center point badly enough that they both broke apart.
I added a small piece to enlarge them a bit so that I could solder them closed at the points. Then to strengthen them at the repair joint I turned sterling silver wires into a rope and then wrapped the new bangles with it.
Now she just needs to slide them over her hand to get them on and no more bending them open and closed. A perfect repair and a new look to a favourite set of bracelets.
