Custom Golf Apps. The reality vs the illusion.
As the CEO of Golfpay, and owners of some of the most popular Golf Apps in the world, the topic of mobile apps is one I'm very familiar with, and if your golf course has a custom golf app then don't take this the wrong way, please... Golfpay apps get more downloads by lunchtime, then 99.9% of custom golf apps get in an entire year. I don't say this to brag, I really don't. Trust me, I've learned many hard lessons over the last 3 and 1/2 years since buying my first two companies in the golf business, so I feel your pain but you have to consider the user experience. Connected consumers want options. It's the reason Golfnow still has a foothold right now with the online tee time market. Its one place golfers can search tee time options, and of course their "hot deals".
Its my opinion that custom golf apps are a good thing, but they are one tool that should not exclude other tools. Own as much real estate on someone's phone as possible because people will uninstall one app, and not another.

8 年This is an interesting take on custom apps, and a selective thumbnail to accompany the post. Downloads are not a metric we should focus on when considering the effectiveness of the custom app product. There's more to it than that. It's important to understand what the product is, the user experience it provides, and to know the three most important questions to ask on a regular basis to get results.
