Cushman & Wakefield Birmingham Office is Shortlisted for the Finals of the 2025 BCO Awards.

We’re very pleased and excited to announce that the 戴德梁行 Birmingham office, designed by Squaredot , has been shortlisted for the 2025 British Council for Offices Awards, Midlands and Central England.

The success of this project is testament to the feedback and the way in which the space is being used and enjoyed, as well as the effect it has had on the culture and day to day experiences of the Cushman & Wakefield teams and visiting clients.

People agree that the space really works. It has succeeded in moving the business forward, and the work environment away from the sea of desks in their previous space. The many new drop-in areas and meeting rooms are frequently in use but the real change for many has been the ‘Centre of Gravity’, a popular social space, hosting many different activities and gatherings of people. The old fourth floor break space was cold & hardly used, whereas the new area is vibrant & heavily used and has brought people together from different parts of the office.

When it came to the general workspace, the driver was all about creating connections across the floor. The aim was to provide a landscape that supports collaboration as well as task based working, where people can focus and make meaningful connections. With this in mind a variety of non-bookable settings have been included, such as collaborative touch down tables within the open plan work space, where people could work or come together in an ad hoc and informal manner. Alternatively, single person pods and 2 person ‘focused work rooms’ provide settings where people could find the privacy that they needed for confidential calls or quiet working.

Not only has the new workplace significantly increased staff satisfaction, enabled greater interaction and become an exemplar workplace to be proud of; the impact of the new space has already seen increased revenue from visiting clients and has become a showcase for their vision and ability to deliver excellence.

In this project the whole team have created an exceptional space for colleagues and clients; maximising connections, collaboration, creativity, innovation and culture.?

If the aspiration was to create a sustainable & cost-effective environment and a workspace built around a centre of gravity with a common experience for all users offering a variety of work settings that are flexible, multipurposed and tech equipped, then this was most certainly achieved.

The awards luncheon will be held at The Eastside Rooms , Birmingham, on Friday 9th May 2025. Read the full project case study on our website: Cushman & Wakefield.
