Curse of Knowledge
Have you tried explaining the concept of UX heuristics to a novice? No? Then,
Have you tried explaining how the resolution or density-independent pixel that plays a key role while designing for multi-device to someone who couldn’t get it?
Do you know you tell your friend how the wireframes help fine-tune the concept more precisely? How it helps to think holistically with all the key stakeholders…
Yet at the same time, somebody doesn't appear to hit the nail on the head. Why would that be? It’s because you suffer from the ‘curse of knowledge’
So what is the Curse of Knowledge?
The curse of knowledge is a cognitive bias that occurs when an individual, communicating with other individuals, unknowingly assumes that the others have the background to understand. This bias is also called by some authors the curse of expertise, although that term is also used to refer to various other phenomena.
Furthermore, the Curse of knowledge also brings a Boon of wisdom by educating people around you to benefit from the knowledge that you have obtained and that is a challenge and exercise in itself.
So continue perusing, learning, and sharing the genuine information that educates everybody around you.
