The Institute for Musculoskeletal Health conducts research to reduce the global burden of musculoskeletal disease. We are currently looking for people to take part in some of our clinical trials, surveys and campaigns. We invite you to share the below with your professional and personal networks who may be interested.

Some are seeking members of the public:

  • Active Women over 50 study (for women 50+ looking to get active)
  • Survey: seeking people with an upcoming hip/knee replacement surgery
  • OASIS trial (for adults with acute sciatica)
  • Survey: seeking people aged 10+ living with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury

Active Women over 50 study

Do you want support to be more active?

Researchers at The University of Sydney are looking for volunteers to participate in a program aiming to increase physical activity in women aged 50+.?The program involves:?

?? telephone health coaching from a physiotherapist?

?? motivational messages via email or SMS for 6 months to help increase your physical activity?

??? access to online resources?

?? access to a private Facebook group.

Survey: seeking people with an upcoming hip or knee replacement surgery

We want to talk to you and hear your concerns and expectations about the pain medicines you will be given when you go home from hospital.

OASIS trial - have you recently developed sciatica or a back pain problem with pain going down your leg?

Researchers at the University of Sydney are conducting a clinical trial investigating if a commonly used anti-inflammatory medicine is effective in reducing the pain of sciatica. If your sciatica pain started less than 6 weeks ago, this study may be suitable for you. Open to eligible adults across Australia. No travel required. ?

Brain Injury Australia is an Associate Investigator on this #MRFF funded project to develop Australian guidelines for physical activity after traumatic brain injury. Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) celebrates its 25th anniversary!

This year PEDro is celebrating 25 years of informing evidence-based physiotherapy practice. As part of the celebrations, PEDro is looking to expand the Top 20 trials to the Top 25 trials. These trials are submitted by PEDro users and have been identified as important randomised controlled trials in the field of physiotherapy.

To contribute to the identification and inclusion of the next 5 trials, you are invited to nominated randomised controlled trials that evaluate physiotherapy interventions, answer important clinical questions in? a methodologically robust and innovative way, and are a primary report published in a peer-reviewed journal article between July 2019 and August 2024.
