Be curious and learn

'I work with ambitious, driven CEOs who really want their organisations to make a sustainable difference'

Before I start a new Transformation Programme I ask the CEO of the transforming organisation 3 simple questions.

The answers determine how effective we (the CEO, their Board , Executive Team and I) can be as a collaboration.

They predict the scale of effort and resilience required to deliver a transformed business model, culture and customer proposition.

They separate incremental change, from visionary disruption and business transformation.

They create a platform for a great working relationship.

This is a short story of what happend on the 14th April 2021 (yesterday) during the most inspiring zoom call I've participated in a long time. 

In 2019 I asked a visionary CEO my 3Qs
  Q1 Capability     Answer NO (NOT AS THINGS STAND TODAY, BUT I THINK IT'S THERE) 
  Q2 Capacity       Answer NO (EVERYONE WILL SAY THEY'RE BUSY)
  Q3 Change Ready   Answer YES(WE'RE INSPIRED BUT WITHOUT A MAP)
      
      The visionary CEO then asked me a question : - HOW DO 'WE' MAKE THIS HAPPEN?

There are many links in the chain that 'make it happen'. One of the many links in the chain of successful business transformation is leadership.

I've seen CEOs do 1 of 3 things,

1) sweep the decks and bring in a whole new team,

2) sit on the fence, take no action and hope for the best,

3) get under the skin of the why, what and who the leaders are. Understand what they need to succeed and how to empower them to do so.

Yesterday the 14th April 2021 saw the cumulation of over 18 months of intensive leadership development come to a powerful summit of c20 leaders engaged, ready and performing at their highest level in their careers. Of course this has required trust, time and investment but the results speak for themselves.

A knowing and understanding of how to play your best game and be the best team.

An honesty of whether or not you want to be that person or part of that team.

A confidence to pick your own path.

Commitment, Collective ownership, Individual ownership, Self realisation, Teamwork, Empathy, Empowerment, Trust and Support!. Empowered to make a positive difference and proud to break new ground.

I think I might be biased!! ?? #teammagna Those are 3 tough questions, but honest answers from the CEO will open the door. Then, let's not underestimate the ongoing CEO and Executive support required - as per the best leadership text books and coaching!.
