Curious case of Bitter Pills! To have or not to have?
#RDWiSE series 2
All of us have swallowed bitter pills at some time or the other. There are times we know it’s headed our way, but occasionally we are caught unawares. Most Indian kids have grown up hearing "Kadwi cheezen sehat ke liye acchi hoti hain**" or some native variant of this at their dinner table.
**Bitter things are good for health
Lil me would counter every time, no one would eat these things if not for the so called?healthy?tag. Alas! I could never escape it, rather nothing could change the fate of that karela (bitter gourd ) on my plate. But are all?Bitter?pills essential ? The way all that glitters is not gold same holds true for all that’s bitter isn’t necessarily good for you.
You must be wondering, How do I segregate ?How do I identify if it is need of the hour or should I skip it ?
#RDWiSE?to your rescue…over the years working with and meeting diverse set people in personal and professional life, I have observed most important aspect of the bitter pill is the?source, the person serving it.
Based on my experience and listening to stories of several others, the source can be classified into two broad categories. For ease of understanding I take liberty of drawing parallels from the famous Japanese animation series?Type Doremon?and?Type Nobita.
Type Doremon
Type Nobita
Needless to say if Doremon meted out that pill, please pop it in. You are either way off the course or will be there soon. It’s time to ponder, self reflect and mend your ways. Or quite likely your Doreman has foreseen whats headed your way and wants you to be prepared.
Verdict: You need that dose!
But if your source was Nobita then let go, it will just leave a bitter taste and it's no good
Verdict: Simply toss that pill away.
PS: Coming soon on #RDWiSe are Nobitas a lost cause or there is hope?
