Myths, legends, and fairytales involve curiosity. That is for sure. Without curiosity, these stories would probably be of no value. Curiousness leads the protagonist to exciting events and experiences—sometimes paying for their foolishness.
Consider Pandora in Greek mythology and her fateful curiosity. Her decision to open the box unleashed all sins and diseases upon mankind, a powerful testament to the consequences of curiosity.
How about the fairytale of Bluebeard? His wife was curious about his past and started researching. She learned about his dark past quickly. Damn, the magic key that gave away her actions and deeds!
You would believe that curiosity is a sin. In legends and fairytales, curiosity often evolves into being nosy, which isn't a good thing. However, I strongly support curiosity in daily life, your career, and networking!
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting with one of our alumni. He told me about his life in Oslo and the differences between countries, such as price levels and cultural events. Then he told me about the tour operator he works for, their excellent training events, and the business- and network meetings. I also asked him about cultural differences, and he shared examples of reverse culture shock when returning to the Netherlands. It was a fun and fascinating dialogue; his detailed answers fuelled my inspiration and questioning.
Whatever industry you work in, curiosity can lead to nice initiatives, such as new projects and events. It might also be the catalyst for a new journey or the opportunity to meet new people for your network. Curiosity keeps us going, providing inspiration and motivation in life.

My network can testify that I am a curious person. It represents a variety of experts in different industries. Learning from their work, insights, and latest news is so much fun. My network teaches and informs me by answering my questions and feeding my curiosity.
Once a friend shares an interesting fact, it might result in five questions from my side. That's what curiosity does to me. However, it also lets my friend think. My search for answers and the synergy between us results in fun dialogues. Nowadays, lots of data is presented to you already, be it weather forecasts, travel planners, booking confirmations, etc. And if you cannot come up with an answer, text or illustration, AI can provide it. But let it not wipe away your curiosity, creativity and own skills. Don't depend solely on provided data and AI.
Be curious and search for your own answers as well.
According to the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat," but the rejoinder states, "But satisfaction brought it back." So, let's be curious. It may not result in the desired effect every time. But hey, you tried. Better luck next time!
After all, cats have nine lives after all, right?
