Curiosity, Empathy, and Openness Are Skills to Help You Drive Conversations About the New World of Work

Over the last few years, the world of work has changed quite a bit. We’re seeing more flexibility in day-to-day work, and our members are sharing more of their own experiences. We see what's happening in the world around us reflected in the content and conversations on LinkedIn, and we’re proud to foster a community of diverse perspectives, where we can share knowledge, be our authentic selves, and have conversations about the things we care about.

More and more people are having important professional conversations about topics like mental health and wellness, work/life balance, and pay equity. These conversations are top-of-mind for many professionals, and they belong in our professional community where members come to share information, ideas, and expertise. Through the on-going evolution of work, we’ll continue to stay focused on keeping LinkedIn a safe place so you can continue to connect, learn, and have these discussions.

Everyone has different levels of comfort when it comes to sharing views, opinions, ideas, and professional experiences online, and that’s okay. We’re partnering with creators to share stories about how curiosity, empathy, and openness have been valuable to their professional lives and tips to help you have these conversations if you aren’t sure where or how to start.?

For example, Melody Wilding talks about demonstrating courage and strength by sharing lessons, takeaways, or examples of what you’re doing within your workplace to normalize discussing imposter syndrome. In her video, Melody shares tips on how to engage in and with conversations about imposter syndrome that you see on LinkedIn and the value you and your network see from these discussions.

Many people struggle with imposter syndrome, and it can feel isolating. Dr. Lisa Orbé-Austin explains how putting herself out there, telling her story, and sharing her experiences with imposter syndrome helped her build a large community on LinkedIn to share tips about how they are dealing with it.?

We’ll be sharing more from our partners in the weeks to come, and we hope their stories and tips will inspire and help you approach discussions with an open mind.

Absolutely love this approach! ?? As Brené Brown once said, “Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.” ? Your commitment to fostering a space for curiosity, empathy, and openness is truly the key to unlocking profound professional growth. Can't wait to read these stories! ???? #ManyMangoesCommunity

I'm glad LinkedIn is addressing this issue. Next address the amount of fraudsters and spammers on the platform.
