Rapid Fire - You never know. What's the catalyst? And the response? Sometimes it works, sometimes less so, an opportunity none the less. And when you're used to asking the questions?
On a recent visit with Chet Kapoor , on his podcast Inspired Execution, lighting round, Chet asked.
What three qualities describe the best leaders that you have read about or interviewed or the ones that you watch?
Tried to let it flow. I gave Chet three to stay within the confines of the question. The Friday Five allows me to add two more. And I hope you'll share your top qualities in the comments.

Lucky me, the Friday Five is Five so I'm going to add two to the list.
Here are five clips from smart guests on the topic. Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments.
Curiosity
I'm sketching out a book around the tactics methods, principles that I find in common across leaders. I'm focused on creativity, purpose, resilience, and curiosity - Jon Fortt
What’s the first thing to ask someone who has interviewed just about every Technology Leader of our time? What are the common threads you see in great leaders?

Empathy
Humans matter to all of the things that we're doing. And the better that you respect, engage and connect with that, the better for all sides - Meg Bear
They're people, not pieces of steel, or a machine. Emotions is as important as logic. They have outside lives and responsibilities, in addition to work. And those responsibilities change by the hour, day of the week, month of the year, and over the years. They're dynamic creatures. Help them find the intrinsic motivation, that how you get their best performance and productivity, creativity and problem solving.

Enthusiasm (via Communication)
As executives, a big part of our job, if not almost all of our job, is communication, and enlistment of our people in things ... About the time that you are completely bored with your message, you're sick of saying it, delivering it, of getting in front of people and saying it. About half your audience has finally heard it for the first time - Brian Elliott
Communication, Communication, Communication! I first learned this leadership lesson from David Pottruck when I hosted him for a talk at 美国宾夕法尼亚大学 - 沃顿商学院 in 1996. To employees, partners and ecosystem, and external constituents, close and extended. Beyond the time where you can't stand hear it again.
Think like a Broadway performer. Focus on the member of today's audience who's 'Hearing' it for the first time.

Humility
It took me 16 years to really learn that humility was the ultimate leadership value - Mel Torrie
I was very taken by the pragmatism and prioritization and specificity in Mel's culture building. Their mission, somewhere people would want to work, even if they didn't have to work.

Authenticity
Authenticity and consistency seem to be more important than any one particular culture - Jon Fortt
Jon Fortt and I talked about this when contrasting the styles of different, successful leaders, with very different organizations.
Authenticity and Consistency are more important indicators of a successful culture than one culture type. What's your experience?
Sounds cliche, but no one does you better than you.
Trying to be someone else, chasing someone else's definition, is a fool's errand.
