Curing of Concrete in Sub-zero ( or near zero ) temperatures is a challenge . Concrete does not gain any strength if ambient temperature falls below 4 degree C . Sometimes the "special " methods /items to carry out this task are not available . What are the options in such a scenario ? Based on my own experience of a successful innovative method , I had published an technical paper in Indian Highways ( a prestigious publication of Indian Roads Congress ) , in 2001 .
