Cure for the common fear

Cure for the common fear

I haven't written a post in what seems an eternity because I caught a cold and by cold I'm referring to fear.  They both kinda spread the same way and in the same patterns if you think about it.  Easy to avoid, easy to spot, hard to shake once gifted!  Limit your contact with known cold sufferers, especially during their days of illness, are the recommendations from health professionals.

We all have had that experience along our journey, one person who we valued their opinion and they've said we shouldn't or couldn't or just don't (The constant cold suffer).  Their fears crept into our dreams and broke that dream apart, diluted it with snot and make us reach for tissues.  It's because of their past failures which they believe should be passed onto us as lessons for our lives.  Avoid them and listen to your health professionals.  Limit contact with fear sufferers especially during their days of fear(ness).

Limit contact with known cold sufferers, especially during their days of illness.

Don't believe them.  It's not true.  Your dreams shouldn't be held back because of someone else's fears either perceived or realized.  Just as your life is meant to be lived by you, their mistakes and self inflicted wounds are meant to be a part of their lives.  Yes jumping off a bridge without a safety net would be silly but for most logical people that's not a dream it's an adventure.

I'm talking about real dreams, goals, future plans that makes for a better life for you, your friends, your family or the world.  Surround yourself with those who will cultivate your dreams.  Being fortunate to mentor and who I proudly help cultivate their dreams is something I look forward to.  Long drives, dinners, coffee meetings that turn into vibrant conversations are amazing experiences not just for me but for the dreamer.  Maybe it's our cure or the medicine we both need by seeing their eyes light up with the possibilities of bringing their dream a little closer to life and your honest and true intent to see them on their journey is an absolute blessing. I will never interject my failures or shortcomings into their dreams.  Let them dream big, plan well, and figure out those possible failures on their own.  Remember it's their journey not yours.  Think of yourself as the tree (or that big old fat rock) they get to rest on during the journey.

Life teaches us lessons when we surround ourselves with patient people who only want the best for us.  Play that role and watch their fears disappear. My fear of writing something worth reading or the fear of someone judging how elementary my writing is holds me back from sharing my thoughts and experiences in written form.  I need to shake this cold and start ingesting and surrounding myself with dreamers again.

Well expressed! And congratulations on your first post. I can relate. I've been wanting to contribute to the professional community for some time now. I thought writing articles would be a great way to do that but I couldn't imagine I had anything to say that others had not already shared. Plus, I was worried others may see the flaws instead of the positive contributions I was adding. Then I got some great advice. Someone told me it's not what you know, it's what you've experienced that matters. Now that I was no longer concerned about what to contribute, I refused to let fear hold me back. To me, success was just to start and go from there. I'm so glad I took the leap. I really enjoyed writing my post and already have a second drafted. To anyone else letting fear hold you back from achieving your goals, my advice is to start. That can be the most challenging part. Ironically enough, my first post was about making your dreams a reality so if this posts inspired you to ditch the fear and you're ready to start, you can check out my post for some tips on getting it done.
