"THE HISTORY OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE ANGLO-SAXON ON THE WORLD STAGE PROVIDES US WITH AN ARRAY OF VEXING CONCLUSIONS."
·?????? These German ancestors were called Assyrian Chatti and had lived mostly in Asia Minor before they began migration to the area, where they remained in constant conflict with the Romans who called them “war men,” hence the name “Germani.”?
While France retained original inhabitance, who became Romanized and outnumbered the invading Franks, the situation was quite different in England. The Barbarians expelled most of the indigenous Celts to Wales, Cornwall, and Scotland in the far western regions of the British Isles. These invaders gave scant attention or virtually ignored most of the Roman achievements already in place.? They introduced a Germanic tribal system of governance and discarded the Roman laws. These pagan conquerors were eventually converted to Christianity by St. Augustine’s mission from Rome at the end of the sixth century. Thus, the Catholic Church – of Rome – initiated the Romanization of the Jutes, Angles and Saxons whom we now call Anglo Saxons.
The Roman historian Tacitus (56 – 126 A.D.) wrote about the early German tribes who flowed into Europe during the first and second centuries A.D. The most significant of these early German tribes -to name a few - are the Chatti who were ancestors of the modern Hessians, the Treveri, Tungu, and Alammanni.? Chatti means “to breakdown by violence and to make afraid or terrify.”

These German ancestors were called Assyrian Chatti and had lived mostly in Asia Minor before they began migration to the area, where they remained in constant conflict with the Romans who called them “war men,” hence the name “Germani.”? However, Tacitus did acknowledge that no record existed (at that time) to show that these people ever used the word (Germani) to describe themselves.
James McCabe, the author of History of the World wrote that the Assyrians were a “fierce, treacherous race”, who took “delight in the dangers of the chase in war” He also noted that they were regarded with suspicion by their neighbors because of this characteristic and the fact that “they never kept faith when it was to their interest to break treaties.”
The historian Jerome who was born in A.D. 340 is said to have been quoting from Psalm 83:8 when he wrote of the Assyrian migration. He did so because it happened during his lifetime. This flood of Germanic tribes into central Europe, laid the path for the old Assyrian empire “to again rise for world domination.”
In case some of you don’t know about the dominance of the Assyrian empire, let me refresh your memory.?...
The Assyrian invasion into Hezekiah’s Judah in 701 BC is well documented in the bible and in archaeology. Sennacherib the Assyrian King conducted the siege of Jerusalem. This siege is documented in three books of the bible, 2ND Kings, 2ND Chronicles, and Isaiah.[10]?
1. King Sennacherib was a powerful Assyrian monarch. His name literally means “Sin has increased the brothers.” “Sin” was the moon-god of Assyrian mythology. The capitol of Assyria was the wicked Nineveh. The Assyrian Empire was famous for its barbaric society; its ruthless treatment of others. It was a vicious, evil culture. Sennacherib’s war on Judah is recorded in Scripture.
a. Is 36:1; 2 Ki 18:9-13 – The Assyrian army attacked and conquered 46 cities and strongholds of Judah. More than 200,000 prisoners were taken into captivity. Hezekiah offered tribute to Sennacherib so the Assyrian army would cease its attack (2 Ki 18:14-16).?
b. Is 36:2 – The tribute did not satisfy the greedy Assyrian. Sennacherib immediately broke his promises and prepared to lay siege to Jerusalem. This was almost instantly after he accepted the tribute. From Sennacherib’s annuals he described the situation as thus: “I shut him up like a caged bird within his royal capital, Jerusalem. I put watch-posts closely around the city.” ...
