CuraPatient Salutes and Thanks Our Public Health Workers
This week is National Public Health Week 2022, and the theme is “Public Health is Where You Are.” The CuraPatient team wants to celebrate and thank all public health workers for the vital services they perform, particularly over the course of the last two years of the COVID pandemic as we’ve faced the greatest public health crisis of our lifetimes. A sincere thank you to all public health workers from the CuraPatient team!
The World Health Organization’s official definition of health, as written in its constitution in 1948, is a “state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
That mission is closely aligned with the mission of our vital public health workers and agencies. While the field of healthcare, or medicine, concerns itself with the treatment of individuals and their specific conditions, public health, also known as population health, concerns itself with the treatment of groups of individuals or communities.?
As a recent article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) stated, “Precision public health is an emerging discipline that uses extensive population-specific data to provide the right intervention to the right population at the right time.” This precision was vital to the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of CuraPatient’s partners, a public health agency serving a large metro area of over three million residents, used data in order to ensure the most vulnerable and underserved residents were protected through targeted vaccination efforts made possible by CuraPatient’s technology.?

CuraPatient’s robust reporting, powerful analytics, geographic overlays, and visual dashboards enabled our public health partners to strategically plan the initial vaccination rollout and adjust tactics midstream to ensure the health of the entire region. The precision of the response was powered by CuraPatient, which helped our public health partners fulfill one of the missions of “precision public health… [which] uses data from traditional and emerging sources to target interventions for populations by person, place, and time, in part with a focus on reducing health disparities.”
With multilingual support, CuraPatient reached out to our partner’s residents in the region’s ten threshold languages (English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Traditional Mandarin, Simplified Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, Gujarati, and Tagalog) to drive vaccination rates, reduce case counts, take the burden off healthcare systems, and protect the entire community. A local partner in the community, CuraPatient’s team is incredibly proud to support our local public health workers with solid and secure tools to improve the health of our community. The entire CuraPatient team salutes the public health workers not just where we are, but all across the country and the world!
