Good morning and how are you doing? Welcome to this week’s edition of 4 Customs Street, our weekly newsletter on the stock market.

The newsletter is divided into two:?

Green White Green Last Week?

Last week, the NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.13%. The index measures the average performance of stocks on the exchange. Some stocks will do better than the index. Some stocks will do worse than the index.?

RT Briscoe led last week’s gainers, appreciating by 53.85% to close at ?0.60. CWG was the worst-performing stock last week. It declined by 9.76%, opening at ?1.23, and closed at ?1.11, down by ?0.12.?

Nigerian Breweries and United Capital both released their audited full-year 2021 numbers.?

Nigerian Breweries made ?437 billion in revenue and profit after tax of ?12.7 billion. Last year, the company paid an interim dividend of 40 kobo. An interim dividend is paid before a company’s audited full-year numbers are released.?

The company has proposed a final dividend of ?1.20. Final dividends are paid after a company’s full-year results have been audited.?

The qualification date for the dividend is March 9, 2022, and payment is scheduled for April 22. The qualification date is the last deadline to own shares in order to get paid a dividend.?

United Capital’s revenue went up by 40% from ?12.8 billion in 2020 to ?18 billion in 2021. Profit after tax rose by 44% from ?7.8 billion in 2020 to ?11.2 billion in 2021.?

A dividend of ?1.50 per share has been proposed. The qualification date for the dividend is March 8, 2022, while the payment date is March 23, 2022.?

Green White Green This Week?

Nigerian Breweries has an investors forum on Thursday, February 24. United Capital could hold an analyst call since it released its earnings last week.??

Golden Guinea Breweries will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM)? on February 25. Seplat will hold a board meeting on the same date to consider its audited FY 2021 numbers.

Star-Spangled Banner Last Week?

It was a second straight week of losses for US equities, as tensions between Russia and Ukraine have heightened uncertainty.

The Dow fell by 1.9%. The S&P 500 fell by 1.6%. The NASDAQ Composite index declined by 1.8%.?

Today, markets will be closed to mark President’s day. The third Monday in February was chosen to mark the birthday of President George Washington and celebrate the achievements of all US presidents.?

Earnings are still rolling (by earnings we mean companies releasing quarterly financial statements). We will be keeping an eye on Coinbase, Palo Alto Networks, Teladoc, and Alibaba
