In the news…

We loved the Channel 5 programme this week: TKMaxx: how do they do it?

Waxing the rails, scattering stock around so everything feels like a one off, items made specifically for TKMaxx at a lower quality, and products at the tills to distract us from our purchases in case we start to regret our impulses… is this genius or underhand?

Marketing and customer journey is fascinating and at the core of every business, as let’s face it with no customers there is no business, but is there a fine line between marketing and manipulation?

Do you see TKMaxx’s tactics as ethical? Where is your line as a customer?

As a business owner you may influence your audience every single day. But what this programme highlighted for us, is the line between ethical, and unethical marketing.

Ethical marketing done right can build your raving fans, it will move people to know, like and trust you, which is key. But there is a line between manipulating people ethically, and unethically.

?In your marketing, you need to highlight the gap someone has without your product/or service, otherwise your audience may never figure out they need you, but it is how you go about it that counts.

-??????Be relevant. don’t sell, give value so you are helping people to get what they need.

-??????Stay front of mind, no-one will know about you if you are not popping up

-??????Be real! Build the know like and trust, and be real to continually add value.

This week’s challenge

“I’m not a real business owner…”

“Am I good enough to…”

Sound familiar?

Did you know over 70% amount of people suffer with Imposter Syndrome? Our challenge this week is to take this quiz from Grammarly to see which of the 5 types of imposter syndrome you might have. Maybe take the quiz and then set yourself one action you can do to combat it??

The good news is that recent studies have shown that Imposter Syndrome can lead to a higher quality of work, HOWEVER it comes at a cost to our own health. So how can you banish these thoughts?

In May our focus is on making your business blossom and we are going to be thinking about ways we can embrace self-doubt and see it more as a positive than a negative.?Join us in the Growth Club to find out more.
