Cupcakes and Content creation: What do they have in common?
Imagine yourself walking into the grocery store of your choice. If you’re like me, you have your grocery list premade along with your stomach somewhat full to keep you from purchasing food you don’t need.
If your grocery store is like mine in my neighborhood, the bakery is there as you first enter the store. And I mean right there. Coincidence? I think not.?
You walk past the display cases seeing the cakes, the pies, the donuts, and cupcakes.?
You stop.
And there it is, the cupcake that caught your eye.?
I want you to close your eyes for a second. Imagine your cupcake in front of you. I’ll describe mine.
Buttercream frosting that is dyed purple with food coloring. And a light, airy cake bottom, usually yellow cake.
Have you imagined yours? Good. Does it look like mine? Probably not.
Everyone has a different idea of what their ideal cupcake is. Vegan, Gluten-free, more fruits, less frosting, more sprinkles, fewer jimmies, you name it!
Each cupcake is going to be different for each person.?
But how are cupcakes related to content? And does that mean each piece of content needs to be different to each person?
Creating content is an individual process
To answer your questions: no and no.

Creating content is an individual process. Meaning: you’re going to create content that centers around you and what you bring to the table.?
Now not everyone is going to like what you create, and that’s fine. That just means your content is not made for them: they’re not your ideal bakery customer.?
Instead, focus on the cupcakes that you like and can make with ease. There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel.
Follow the recipe that works for your content creation
Just like how you try out recipes for the first time, content creation is the same thing.?
You gather your ingredients.
You mix them together.
You bake.
You decorate.
They flop.
You try again.
Content creation is not meant to appeal to everyone. It’s meant to appeal to the right one. Your “right one”. Your target audience. Your prospects. Your consumers.?
Just as the Tiktok audio goes “I like you, have a cupcake. I like you, have a cupcake. Ewwwwww. I like you, have a cupcake”; you’re going to find the right audience with the right cupcake (although don’t say Eww to them, that’s not very nice).
Keep practicing, cooking, baking, testing, and repeating content creators!
