A cup of inspiration for the holidays!

This holiday season, we’d like to tell you about Mackenzie Robinson, an Indigenous Veteran who’s determined to change the world, one cup of coffee at a time – and he’s doing it, thanks to you.

Mackenzie Robinson joined the Forces in 2007 and was deployed to Afghanistan within two years, serving as part of a force protection platoon. When his service ended, so did the sense of purpose and belonging he had felt as part of a team.

Making the transition from deployment to civilian employment is a challenge for many Veterans – leaving behind the structure and intensity of life in the Forces can lead to feelings of isolation and a lack of purpose.

?As Mackenzie puts it, “In the military, we are taught that the order is mission, team, self. I needed to learn how to map out my own life. That’s exactly what I found in the Prince’s Trust.”?

Mackenzie’s dream of owning his own business took flight when he connected with the Prince’s Trust, a national employment and mentorship charity which is supported by True Patriot Love, thanks to the help of donors like you.

This holiday season, your gift can change lives!

Through the Trust, Mackenzie found mentors and a supportive network that helped him turn a dream into a solid business plan for a coffee roaster and café. Today, you can find his Trek Coffee in restaurants and stores in his home province of BC – he’s even partnered with the award-winning Indigenous World Winery in Kelowna to launch a coffee-based liqueur.

@TrekCoffeeCompany is Mackenzie’s pride and joy, but he also wants his business to fulfill an important purpose: supporting Indigenous communities and Veterans.

There are some 460,000 Veterans in their core working years of 25 to 54, each facing similar challenges when leaving military life, and many struggling to find purpose and meaning in the civilian world.

Thanks to your support, True Patriot Love can provide funding to transition programs so that Veteran entrepreneurs like Mackenzie can use their skills and talents, contribute to the economy and to their communities, and thrive.

With our strategic funding of local and national organizations serving Veterans, serving military and their families, even one donation to True Patriot Love can have impact from coast to coast.

Please consider making a gift to True Patriot Love today – and click here to learn how transition support programs have helped Mackenzie and other Veterans find new passions and purpose.

Wishing you the very best this holiday and in the new year!

P.S. Looking for a holiday gift that really gives back? Make your donation in honour of a family member, friend, colleague or client .
