Cummins Inc. Chair and CEO Jennifer Rumsey’s visit to India – Powering our purpose, building partnerships, and charting new horizons!
Early August marked an exciting time for Cummins India as Jennifer Rumsey, Cummins Inc. Chair and Chief Executive Officer returned to India for a visit. She was accompanied by Cummins Inc.’ leaders, Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale, Vice President – Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary; and Jim Schacht, Vice President – Corporate Responsibility.
Much more than a customary leadership visit, her time in India focused on engaging with Cummins stakeholders, articulating her vision for the company, and reinforcing the company’s commitment to Destination Zero – Cummins’ strategy for reaching zero-emissions.

Meeting with Government Officials and Board Members
A co-architect of Destination Zero, Rumsey has led the advancement of the strategy which requires partnerships from both public and private sectors. She met with key government officials, including Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa -Government of India; Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India; and Eric Garcetti, US Ambassador to India. The strategic discussions focused on Cummins’ contributions to India and how the company can partner with the government to further advance the decarbonization strategy.
Rumsey also met with the Board Members of Cummins India Limited (CIL) to foster a deeper understanding of the opportunities within the region and gather insights on their roadmap for the future.

Caring for our Communities
With a strong desire and commitment to our communities, Rumsey convened with visionary leaders from the Rise Up Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to recognize their accomplishments and goals through Cummins Powers Women. Cummins Powers Women represents a $23 million commitment in proven programs designed to create large-scale change in the lives of women and girls globally. Since 2018, Cummins has served more than 27 million women and girls and invested in 253 advocacy initiatives in five regions, resulting in 47 laws and policies supporting gender equality.
Powering our Purpose
With a focus on keeping people at the center, Rumsey connected with Cummins India employees through a town hall at the India Office Campus in Pune. Applauding their exceptional contributions, she articulated her vision for the company and encouraged them to focus on impact to power the success of customers and stakeholders.
Manufacturing Excellence and Innovation showcase at Kothrud Engine Plant (KEP) and Cummins Technical Center India
The itinerary included a visit to the KEP, where the Power Systems teams provided Rumsey with insights into product development, capacity enhancement, and a resolute emphasis on driving manufacturing excellence. Her next stop was the Cummins Technical Center India (CTCI), the company's global innovation hub in India, where she inaugurated a wall adorned with patents, engaged in an innovation-centric tour, and connected with local Cummins engineers. Drawing from her own experience as an engineer and former Chief Technical Officer (CTO), she reflected on the past and celebrated the remarkable contributions that engineers make in the growth and success of Cummins.
As the guest for the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Cleaner Air Better Life Pune program launch, Rumsey reinforced Cummins' commitment to environmental stewardship and shared that the launch of the program is pivotal in our collective efforts towards creating a more sustainable world for our people and communities.
Rumsey's visit to Cummins India proved invigorating for employees – helping them understand the company strategy and how they will play a key role in shaping the future. The amalgamation of technological innovation, manufacturing excellence, corporate responsibility, employee engagement, and environmental stewardship showcased during her stay truly encapsulates Cummins' core values and culture. 1 å¹´Really good company, I did work in Kothrud, Pune branch for 2years but to support as third party consultant to clear claim from DGFT, Excise and customs. Currently I am working with top best MNC shipping line since last 7-8 years. However again I have to work with Cummins on company role. I have tried and applied for all positions for Import, export, purchase, SCM for Cummins but still waiting acceptance from Cummins management, so someone please help me on this, so I can complete my wish to work with Cummins.
