Culture Culture Culture!!!

Over the years I have been part of "culture initiatives" and have read about culture this and culture that, often a project assigned to HR to sell the CEO’s idea of culture recently read from a New York Times Bestseller Book while on a flight to a Boondoggle. We’ve all seen it and we’ve all been part of it.?"20 Steps to a Better Culture". How to create it, how employees need to fit in, how HR must take culture into consideration when hiring, etc.??

With today's increasing level of diversity, about 98.4% of all that is hogwash. Might want to start with?these 2 simple thoughts:

  1. Loudly and visibly terminate toxic employees, regardless of productivity. The message sent is clear. There is no room for personal agendas, ridiculous egos, or a lack of respect for other employees or clients. Your best employees will love you for it.
  2. Dedicate purposeful scheduled time to proactively develop the employees with a great attitude that want to learn and grow. As leaders it is your job to identify those with hidden greatness. The diamonds in the rough. If you don’t, the most gifted will go where talents are recognized.

That's it.

If you don’t have time to do both, start with the first one. You’ll be amazed how quickly the culture shapes itself from within.

Both points are the best way to handle it. Unfortunately many are afraid because either they are new in the organization and they are trying to earn trust.. Ward Olgreen
