Culture of Giving Back-Gift from God

The role of business in people's life has been always debated. Is the main purpose of businesses living up to the expectations of their shareholders; maximize their value and overlook society pressing issues? I argue that we live in new era where businsses need to rethink their social responsbilities and think of shared stakeholder value created by their actions. It is a shame that we are in 20th century and still millions of people cannot find food or water.. On the positive side, i was amazed to see yesterday the above note on one of Dubai restaurants offering food for free for people who cannot afford it. What is really more interesting is that the owners did not claim that this is charity! It is a gift from GOD. well done.. I hope that this culture of giving without anything in return prevails!
