Culture, Collaboration, and Compassion = Results
President's Letter
Greetings and Happy New Year, CHEF!?
I am honored to serve as the 2025 President of the Chicago Health Executives Forum!?During the last decade, I have been a member of ACHE, which has given me so much—a rich network, committee and board leadership experience, Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Scholar experience, and now the privilege of leading our chapter through this exciting year!?My theme for this year is?Culture, Collaboration, and Compassion = Results.??
It has been said that “healthcare is hard,” and it is.?No matter what is happening from Springfield to DC, our patients and communities rely on our organizations to deliver results.?They expect quality care. They expect clear communication.?They expect accurate billing.?They expect claims to be paid.?They expect to be treated well in the face of health struggles, confusion, and stress.?In order for our teams to deliver these results, we need to ensure we are fostering inclusive cultures, collaborating across organizations and sectors, and that we always lead with compassion.?My desire for CHEF is to exhibit the same principles so that we have a strong culture, a high level of collaboration within CHEF and externally, and that we demonstrate compassion for not just patients and the community—but each other as colleagues across the Chicagoland area.??
That said, I’d like to share 3 ways we can kick off actions that?support this theme:?
Get involved!?Take full advantage of your ACHE and CHEF membership!?We have rich offerings every single month to support your professional development and growth.?There are also several committees—Membership & Advancement, Marketing & Communications, Education and Networking, Finance, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, and Sponsorship & Development-- that are always welcoming new members. Join a committee and share your talents while working with colleagues from across the area.??
Network!?Network formally at networking events, at Congress with colleagues from across the nation, or just by making intentional connections amongst members.??
Get your FACHE!?Get your Face-to-Face Credits, complete the application, and take the test!?There is no time like the present!?
Now that you have your charge for 2025, I would like to formally congratulate and thank the?2025 CHEF Board of Directors?for their willingness to serve and I look forward to working with you over the next year. I am grateful for the 2024 Board that served faithfully, led by Immediate Past President Anna Scaccia, FACHE, who has demonstrated unyielding dedication to continuing to grow and elevate our organization over many years.?A huge thank you to one who has been unofficially crowned “Ms. CHEF,” Regent Georgia Casciato, FACHE, for her tireless dedication to CHEF, ACHE, and the betterment of all of us as healthcare leaders as her term comes to an end this March.?An equally huge congratulations to Pierre Monice, FACHE, our new Regent, on his successful election!?Georgia will officially pass the baton to him at Congress in Houston, Texas, this year, and I hope to see many of you there!???
Again, thank you for being a member of the Chicago Health Executives Forum and for all of your contributions and support.?I am looking forward to continuing to grow and elevate this dynamic organization alongside you in 2025!?
