Culture or Cajole

What it takes to make a high performing organization its undisputedly is culture. Your best strategy, clever product, smart people all of this needs to sit on a firm foundation of culture, where they thrive and root in deep to manifest a high performing organization. 

Culture, a word to few, a way for others and a journey for the ones finding way through their confusion. Culture manifests through what their people do and how they do it to put across straight; yet how difficult would it be to not fix or have the desired culture in place, that point of not being able to drive the right culture leads to a state of cajole.

Organizations with established and a strong culture do not ‘explain about what their culture is’ and rather let their employees, stakeholders, customers and shareholder ‘experience it’ through how they take decisions, what decisions they take and why they do what they do.

When the culture is not well articulated or not meant to its spirit, that seeps the organization and their employees to a state of cajole. The inability or helplessness of the true manifestation of culture is hidden by many leaders and organizations behind a fa?ade of arrogance, I know it all and the classic ‘this is how it’s done here’.

Culture is unique, it cannot be just copied, so don’t copy it either. It defines how business decisions are taken, what growth the organization can think of, how people perform business and how is it experienced. How big the organization will ever play is defined by the inherent culture it has.

What makes it difficult to separate a culture with cajoling is that the ones who are in it many a times are reluctant to accept the difference and the ones expressing will be shun by the unfortunate state of ignorance; between all of this the organization has to take a long route of recovery which is never a comfortable journey to take.
