Cultural Tour & Expert Sessions
Colorado Byways Symposium 2024 is expecting patrons from across the State of Colorado, across the United States and a special delegation visiting from the Japan and Hokkaido Scenic Byways. The event is hosted by the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic and Historic Byway, overseen by the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area. The National Scenic Byway Foundation (NSBF) has sponsored and promoted this event nationally. During the week, Symposium attendees will be visiting numerous sites throughout the San Luis Valley. Wednesday, attendees will be viewing our unique dark night skies. On Thursday, we will travel the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic and Historic Byway with an evening Fireside Chat at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Friday will be numerous breakout sessions throughout the day, including a luncheon awards and a presentation by the Japan Scenic Byways, followed by the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area’s Annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party! On Saturday, participants can learn and volunteer at the Rio Grande Farm Park.
