At a fundamental level we need a much greater diversity of people developing AI and being supported to develop AI if it’s to come close to reaching these standards. Just considering gender alone (I’d usually avoid considering one aspect of identity in isolation, but this is such a stark example), at the moment 98% of funding for AI in the UK and US goes to male developers!
