Next time someone tells you a flight attendant's job is to serve drinks, show them this video and tell them J-Rutt sent you. I was privileged to serve with many fantastic flight attendants while flying at the 76th Airlift Squadron in Ramstein, Germany. According to the FAA, flight attendants are responsible for understanding how to perform the necessary tasks to ensure passenger safety. Their primary responsibilities are safety-related, and they are trained extensively in safety procedures and protocols to handle emergencies during a flight. Next time you board a plane tell the flight attentant “thanks for keeping us all safe.” ?? Video from IG https://lnkd.in/ep7iMmdY

Premium Analysis for Air Transport executives | Enabling better decisions | Minimizing Risk & Maximizing Profit
[??B01] One of the largest air evacuations: A reminder of the basics The photo, clicked in 2021, is of evacuees in a U.S. Air Force jet transport aircraft, part of "Operation Allies Refuge". The operation was one of the largest air evacuations of civilians in American history. Study the photo closely. No aisle No seats No meals No carpet No windows No cabin crew No drink service No overhead bins No in-flight entertainment Yet it is a transport of passengers by air. Yes, during non-normal times. An emergency. Regular public transport is way, way better. And scheduled airline transport is public transport. Made comfortable by regulations: Seats, seatbelts, clear aisles and windows for safety. Everything else is a luxury. ???? Most airlines get caught up in the "frills" - items and services that build on the core (basic) offering. While this isn't wrong - and necessary for differentiation and strategic reasons - an undue focus on the frills at the expense of the basics gets the business in trouble. ?? Repost.

The training of #Ukrainian F-16 pilots in the #USA and #Denmark is at the final stage: they are directly honing their skills on the tasks that will be set before them in #Ukraine. As?Censor.NET?informs, this was?stated?by Air Force spokesman Illia Yevlash during the briefing. "Currently, several groups are undergoing training with us, several of them are already in the final stages. In particular, the pilots undergoing training in Denmark and the USA, they are already directly training to hone their skills on real tasks that will be set before them in Ukraine." said the spokesman. Yevlash added that Ukrainian pilots are practicing strikes against small targets, including such as "Shahed", cruise, and guided air missiles. "As of now, we are still undergoing training in Great Britain. These are the first courses they are taking specifically on language learning - English and direct ground training. Another such group has already completed similar courses and moved to another country of the air coalition - France. They are currently undergoing training on light aircraft in order to increase the number of flight hours and master the control system. This is a transitional stage before transferring to a more serious jet fighter and gaining valuable experience there, which they will then hone on the F-16," Yevlash said. https://lnkd.in/d_YTT_u9

Canada and Military- This is rather a sad bit of news....Canada's Air Force ends pilot training as Ottawa’s spending priorities grow more unbalanced. Canada’s aspiring pilots will now travel to Texas, Finland and Italy to earn their wings. So ends a proud tradition of pilot training that during the Second World War saw Canada train more than 130,000 Allied aircrew, earning it the epithet “the aerodrome of democracy” from then U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt. Except, as Ian Brodie — former chief of staff to prime minister Stephen Harper — pointed out in a National Post video last week, the massive run up in spending on Indigenous Services Canada means a department that used to account for the equivalent of less than half of the defence budget will this year receive two per cent of GDP. In the 2014/15 Main Estimates, the then Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development was allocated $8 billion. In the same year, National Defence received $18.6 billion. Nine years later in this year’s Main Estimates, appropriations worth $48.6 billion were approved for Indian Affairs’ two successor departments, Indigenous Services and Crown-Indigenous Relations. Defence got $24.8 billion. That is a conspicuous imbalance.

?? "ICAO 's state members are highly encouraged to expedite the ratification process related to protocols ( 50a and 56 ) of Amendment to international civil aviation convention these instruments of ratification aim to increase the membership of the ICAO's council state members as well as the air navigation commission. As we navigating through unprecedented changes in air transport industry, the significance of such expansion is to allow more diversity and inclusivity in voices and expertise what will enhance efficiency in global aviation management.
"As we navigate through unprecedented changes in air transport, expanding the Council and the Air Navigation Commission is essential. These expansions will enhance the diversity of voices and expertise guiding our industry's future. I strongly urge all remaining Member States to expedite their ratification processes, ensuring that ICAO's key decision-making bodies truly reflect the global nature of aviation in this rapidly evolving landscape." - ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar Learn more about this priority, and show your own aviation leadership by joining us in our advocacy for treaty ratification.
