Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude all Year

Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude all Year

November is upon us. The crispness of fall is in full glory.?

Everyone is waiting for the end of the year when things will slow down, and they can take a deep breath, enjoying that feeling of accomplishment after a year of hard work.

If only we could feel a little of that appreciation every day.?

Maybe observing a little more of an attitude of gratitude could help us through those days when the workload is too heavy and the world is too hard.

Here are 5 steps you can take to maintain an attitude of gratitude all year round:

  • Find a gratitude partner. Now and then, meet up and share what you're grateful for despite what you could both be going through. There is always something to be thankful for; It can be your children, your job, spouse, good health, and so much more.?
  • Find your favorite spot where you can go and feel so much relief after a bad day. It can be a coffee shop, salon for pampering. Know your happy place and visit regularly.
  • Be Genuine. You don't need to post on social media every time someone does something nice for you. An authentic "thank you" holds so much more power. Say thank you when you genuinely mean it and even if no one is watching.
  • Celebrate and appreciate your friends and loved ones more often. Be there for them. Show up when they have events. When you do acts of appreciation to other people, it comes back to you in many ways.

The practice of expressing gratitude improves your physical and mental well-being.?

Regularly taking time to be grateful for big and little things in your life can lead to increased optimism, motivation, satisfaction, self-esteem, and confidence while decreasing feelings of frustration, envy, and regret.?

Don't wait for Thanksgiving to be thankful.?

Happy Thanksgiving?
