After four days of immersive displays, bustling interactions, and groundbreaking innovations, the 64th edition of the prestigious International Engineering Fair (MSV) concluded today at the Brno Exhibition Center. Showcasing an impressive convergence of industrial advancements, the fair assisted participants and visitors in reviving the global engineering community.

The Highlights

The 64th International Engineering Fair was held from 10th to 13th October 2023 at the Brno Exhibition Centre in Czechia. The fair was distinguished by its expanded scale, encompassing ten pavilions that accommodated the impressive showcase of more than 1300 companies.

The fair was marked by profound international influence, fostering cultural diversity and shared expertise as half of the exhibitors came from abroad. Notably, the return of companies from Asia in substantial numbers, along with the robust participation from the United States gained attention from local and international expositors, visitors, and media.

The fair’s focus was on Industry 4.0, Digital Factory, and circular economy. Emphasis was put on industrial sustainability and efficiency, underscoring the industry's commitment to driving a more environmentally conscious approach to engineering practices. Critical points were the relentless pursuit of digitalization within the industry, sustainable energy solutions, eco-friendly practices, and the evolution of autonomous transportation.

Recognizing Excellence and Innovation

The opening event of the 64th International Engineering Fair was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jozef Síkela, Director General of the Union of Industry and Transport Dagmar Kuchtová, Director General of the Brno Fairs Jan Kubata, and Director of the MSV Michalis Busios.

The Confederation of Industry and Transport Summit, attended by Prime Minister Petr Fiala, provided a platform for insightful deliberations and collaborative discourse on the critical challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

The MSV Gold Medals, a distinguished recognition within the engineering community, were granted to six exhibits out of 21 entries that exemplified the industry's relentless pursuit of pioneering breakthroughs and revolutionary advancements.

The 64th International Engineering Fair in Brno, spanning over four days, showcased a diverse array of events and seminars, each offering valuable insights and opportunities for industrial and trade professionals.

Day 1: Tuesday 10/10/2023

The fair kicked off with a bustling start on Tuesday, with a multitude of events including:

  • Czech National Exhibition Stand - The Czech National Exhibition Stand in Hall P served as the focal point for the opening day. Presentations on digitalization, ecodesign, and tools for facilitating international business were key highlights under OP TAC (Operational Program Technologies and Application for Competitiveness).

  • Digital Factory and Artificial Intelligence - Discussions focused on the integration of artificial intelligence in digital manufacturing.

  • France and Italy - Exports from A to Z - CzechTrade presented valuable information on market expansion strategies for French and Italian markets.

  • Contact Ukraine - Opening Day - The event focused on bilateral negotiations and international cooperation for the restoration of Ukraine.

  • Expansion to the U.S. Market - The seminar provided guidance for Czech companies interested in expanding and investing in the American market.

  • The Best of Czech and Slovak Logistics - The conference highlighted exemplary logistics projects and innovations from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

  • Assembly of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic - Industry leaders discussed key challenges and opportunities in the Czech industrial landscape.


  • Export and Investment Opportunities in Latin America - CzechTrade explored various export and investment prospects in Latin American countries.

Day 2: Wednesday 11/10/2023

The second day of the fair featured a series of informative sessions, including:

  • SWIS Business Breakfast - Under the HST Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Czech Republic and HSSR Swiss-Slovak Chamber of Commerce, a breakfast was organized for networking and discussion around Swiss-Czech and Swiss-Slovak business collaborations.

  • Czech National Exhibition Stand - Presentations on EGAP, hydrogen innovation, business opportunities in Japan, circular economy, and employment of foreigners were the primary focus.
  • Sourcing Day with British Company Halfords & Norauto - CzechTrade facilitated an engaging sourcing event with British companies.
  • Ukraine Business Day - The event was organized by the Czech Chamber of Commerce with Eastern Europe and Central Asia and dedicated to exploring business prospects and collaborations with Ukrainian enterprises.
  • Sustainable Business Forum: Nuclear Energy - Discussions revolved around the economic and social implications of nuclear energy and its role in regional development, emphasizing cooperation between the French region of Auvergne-Rh?ne-Alpes and the South Moravian Region.

  • Innovation in the Energy Sector in Relation to Vocational Training - The seminar shed light on the importance of vocational training in fostering innovation in the energy sector.

  • Additive Manufacturing Forum 2023 - The event revolved around the latest advancements and trends in additive manufacturing technology.
  • Business Day of the Czech Association of Interim Management - The day featured insightful discussions on the role of interim management in industrial transformation.

  • Trade Mission Smart Industry Netherlands - The event highlighted potential trade opportunities and collaborations between the Netherlands and Czechia.
  • Annual Partner ELA Blockchain Meeting - The 5th Annual Partner ELA Blockchain Meeting focused on the latest trends and developments in blockchain technology, covering topics such as Hyperledger Fabric, industrial applications, and the future of blockchain integration.

Day 3: Thursday 12/10/2023

Thursday's events were centered around crucial industrial and trade-related discussions, including:

  • Contact Ukraine - The final day of the Contact Ukraine event emphasized Czech-Ukrainian cooperation in the energy sector and featured an expert debate on the same.
  • Energy Around Us - Investment in Renewables, the Transformation of the Heating Sector, and the Role of Community Energy - The conference shed light on investment prospects in renewable energy and the heating sector.

  • Cyber Security in Industry - The seminar outlined the challenges and strategies for enhancing cybersecurity in the industrial sector.

  • Safe Robotics - The event explored the significance of safety measures in robotics applications within the industrial landscape.

  • Meeting Point CzechTrade - CzechTrade's platform facilitated discussions on various export plans and strategies for Czech companies from the directors of CzechTrade's foreign offices, the CzechTrade Design Centre, and the Client Centre for Export.

  • Know How: Technological Answers to Questions of Engineering Practice - The seminar aimed to enlighten the technical audience on unconventional engineering technologies.

Day 4: Friday 13/10/2023

The final day hosted two events aimed at increasing technological literacy for next generations under the common name "IndusTRY: TRY INDUSTRY." The first event, "IndusTRY: Zkus to s pr?myslem," was recommended for elementary schools. The second event, "Zvy?te svou technologickou gramotnost - ur?eno pro st?ední ?koly," was recommended for high schools.

From 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, there was a program for students at the fairgrounds where they could interact with exhibitors and try out extended or virtual reality, program a lathe, compete with robots, and more.

From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, there was an individual opportunity to visit the MSV 2023 exhibition and participate in a competition on selected exhibits.

Other Notable Events

Reflecting on the comprehensive journey of the fair, the concurrent Transport and Logistics and Envitech fairs, along with the reinvigorated Woodtec fair, added a multifaceted dimension to the event, fostering a holistic exploration of diverse industrial sectors and their contributions to the wider engineering landscape.
