CUFA Mid-2024 Supporter Update
As we pass the mid-point of 2024, Cufa is excited to share some updates on key achievements and outcomes with our growing supporter base! Key highlights include:
Cambodia: we recently launched our new 4-year (2024-2028) framework for our major livelihoods investment program - ASPIRE (Australian Social Program for Inclusive Rural Enterprise). This builds on our outgoing Phase One, and will better tailor and customize support to strengthen our network of Cooperative Social Enterprises in rural areas. This Australian-funded program continues to make an important contribution to address the growing urban-rural divide in terms of economic opportunities in Cambodia.
PNG: we have now concluded our Canadian-funded Pathways Unlocked project, building the job ready skills of 300 young people in Port Moresby and providing internships for 15 high performers throughout various businesses. Many of these interns have since been offered ongoing work opportunities - a real testament to the power of this initiative. Providing new opportunities to engage and connect young people in PNG remains a major priority for us.
Regional: members of the Cufa leadership team participated in a regional financial literacy meeting of public and private sector partners to learn and share insights on international best practices, as well as visit the highly successful cooperative - LAMAC - in Cebu island. We also proudly shared updates on our work in PNG as we seek to connect the Pacific with this global movement.
Finally we welcomed our 6000th supporter in early July, an incredible growth in numbers over the past few years! Our work of promoting financial empowerment for vulnerable communities remains as important as ever. Thanks for your ongoing support and interest in our critical work.
