Cue-dependent forgetting, or retrieval failure

As an experiment - Assume your regular laptop/handheld device is not working and thus you get the opportunity to get another device that has an alternate touchpad OR assume you change from Android to iOS or the windows to iOS or you will in general experience the lag causing because of exertion you have to apply to get a hang of it. Expecting there are two or three more differences, which of the two options would you experience?

A: Would you be able to perform an activity at the same speed as you would with your previous device?

B: Would require some more time to catch up with the new form of device.

The second seems to be the obvious choice, isn’t that so? You would at least want to build a Cue-dependent memory to become familiar with another type of touchpad/console or association for handheld devices. besides a few exceptional cases for option A.

Haven’t you had a similar experience?

Cue-dependent forgetting, or retrieval failure, is the failure to recall information without memory cues. The term either pertains to semantic cues, state-dependent cues or context-dependent cues. ... Some memories can not be recalled by simply thinking about them. Rather, one must think about something associated with it.
