To Buildsoft Support
Hi Guys,
Just a note in regards to the many requests that I have sent to you with current coding in Cubit. As you are aware, these were finally sent to the programmers after almost two years of dealing with these issues with support. The coding doesn’t work. The copying feature doesn’t work and it has now become impossible to work with the system where the coding is flawed.
I have sent videos and screenshots showing these issues in detail and it’s becoming impossible to work with the system to produce a pricebook. I have had no feedback from the programmers as of today and the issue still continues to escalate to a point that I am continually have to re-code rates that are just not working, due to the line coding being just not working correctly, because, line coding changes the rate buildups when copied and formulas are lost in the process.
Buildsoft Global allowed you to set up your own codes and formulas and Codes became dynamic and wouldn’t change when being copied. Furthermore, Rate breakup sheets didn’t rely on computer generated line codes. These lines where then used for formulas using the ‘Line Number’ hash tag feature in Global Estimating.
I have built many Prices books in different software such as:
Reply back from Buildsoft
?Sorry for our delay on coming back to you.
?I agree that there are improvements that can be made, and as you mentioned, we on the support team have passed along the feedback to the development team.
While I am not a developer, and do not claim to know exactly how easy or difficult various items are to implement, it is my understanding that things like coding and referencing are very much at the heart of the Cubit software making changes around these areas to be quite difficult and time\labour intensive.
The upshot being that changes to these fundamental areas would be quite slow if implemented.?(I dont believe this statement - from TM)
That being said, I do absolutely understand your frustration and we here in the support team will absolutely make your voice, as well as other people’s voices are heard and acknowledged internally.

I know this isn't always obviously looking from the outside in, but I promise you are not ignored in any way.
As you would expect, the more people who request any particular change to the software, the more weight that request would have. Due to this I would definitely encourage anyone who has feedback to pass this on to us so that we can get the best view of the number of customers who want those changes.
I wish there was more I could do for you off hand, but I will at the very least raise your email internally to once again make sure you are heard.

Reply to Estimators and Quantity Surveyors from Trevor Moseley - QS Project Services
To the Construction Estimators and Quantity Surveyors following my post requests to Buildsoft, I would like to ask for a little help. Most of the hard work in getting the program to perform better comes from people like me, whose main drive is to get the programmers to implement these changes to make the program easier to use for all of us, yet not a lot of people seem to spend any time in doing anything about supporting the dedicated people that do. I have spent a countless hour of my spare time over many years providing feedback that should benefit a lot of current users. Therefore, I would appreciate it if user that like improvements to the programs, at lease support the people that do persist in trying to get these changes made.
If you need any further clarifications of the changes, I am proposing, please contact me either at the email address below to discuss, or read my suggestions notes on the Buildsoft website. It would seem that the more users that would like these changes implemented need to be going to Buildsoft Website at https://bsoft.zendesk.com/hc/requests/143494 and submitting a request in relation to this issue.
Remember the more that users support this request the more likely it is that it might be looked at seriously. Please send request for the coding in cubit to be implimented
