Sustainability reporting with CSRD
There's a new addition to the alphabet soup of sustainability reporting and frameworks: the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Which companies will need to comply? Those that have operations or subsidiaries in the EU or are listed on EU-regulated markets and meet at least two of three requirements:
New B Corp standards
Currently, for a business to become certified as a B Corporation, it needs to score at least 80 points in the B Impact Assessment, across the impact areas of Governance, Workers, Environment, Community, and Customers. That means it can excel in one area and lag (a bit) in another — for example, it can pay a living wage but not measure its carbon footprint. The new standards, now in the second round of consultation, will raise the bar and be more consistent.?
