With all the #Superleague hype, which was extremely short-lived, I thought I’d stay on the topic of #football this week!

I’ve been reading a lot lately on just how disruptive #cryptocurrency will be in the future (if you couldn’t tell)! 

I strongly believe that in the future all football transfers will be completely #digitised and paid for with cryptocurrency.

If you are into #crypto and into #football then you may already know that two transfers have already been completed using cryptocurrency.

Yes, they were outside of the top leagues, but baby steps!!

An amateur Turkish side, #Harunustaspor, completed a transfer using #Bitcoin as part payment for Omer Faruk Kiroglu.

Also, DUX Internacional de Madrid, a Spanish Segunda División B side, bought former Real Madrid B striker, #DavidBarral. The Spanish Segunda division is hardly the Prem, but these players are still professionals and these #smallfry decisions carve the way for bolder moves!

Some other notable #cryptocollabs are the ex-Premier League team #Watford who have embraced #Bitcoin as their main sponsor and corporate partner. Fans can buy official club merchandise and products using the cryptocurrency.

#CrystalPalace, #Everton and #LeicesterCity also have ties to cryptocurrency trading platforms.

Just last week #Southampton signed a shirt sponsorship deal that will see the club bank performance bonuses in #Bitcoin. They signed a three-year deal with the #CoingamingGroup as main club partner that will see the brand #Sportsbet.io as shirt sponsor.

Are we feeling ready to embrace the new digital era of #football?

I think the Chairmen most certainly will be embracing the use of digital assets! There are a multitude of benefits.

They are immensely quick, immutable and there will be no loss of revenue due to conversion - less admin fees, no middle men! You can see the financial allure!

I mentioned in my previous post about the impact of #cryptocurrency in relation to buying and selling houses, but the facets to this tech are endless.
