?? Consumer Price Index Lower Than Expected, Positive For Crypto
The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained flat in May, beating all expectations of a 0.1% rise and showing a significant drop from April's 0.3%. Year-over-year, CPI increased by 3.3%, while core CPI, excluding food and energy, rose by 0.2%, also better than forecasted.
This soft inflation data is positive news for the crypto market leading to Bitcoin's price surge, reaching $69,400, up nearly 4% in 24 hours, as market optimism grew amid lower-than-expected inflation figures. The price has since dropped again.

? Terraform Labs To Pay $4.5B Penalty In SEC Settlement
Terraform Labs who were behind the collapse of LUNA that happened in May 2022, has finally agreed to pay a $4.5 billion penalty to settle charges with the SEC, including $3.5 billion in disgorgement, over $460 million in prejudgment interest, and $420 million as a civil penalty.
The Former CEO, Do Kwon, will personally pay $200 million and is banned from serving as an officer or director of a public company. This settlement signifies the conclusion of a major securities fraud case and is a landmark moment for the cryptocurrency industry as a whole.
