Crypto Conference Takeaways

After a busy week of travelling on behalf of Moni Talks, I’ve had a few days to reflect on the takeaways from attending the annual Crypto Gibraltar conference.
I was joined by Moni Talks CEO Lisa Armstrong ACMA CGMA at the four-day industry get together. It was a hectic schedule, but reflecting on our time there, the value of such events is clear.
I was very pleased to see so many of the panels highlighted topics within cryptocurrency and blockchain that align so closely with the values and interests of Moni Talks.
Among those were sessions on #crypto banking, insurance and digital asset recovery, #inclusivity and #innovation, #cbdcs and #stablecoins, and #nfts.
It was an excellent opportunity to hear insight from the likes of Sam Buxton , Dr.Justine Scerri Herrera , Kevin Murcko , Alberto G. Toribio ?? ?? ?? , Mikko Ohtamaa , Aidan Larkin , Mary Camacho , and so many more.
While the panels are a valuable aspect of conferences like #cryptogib, there’s much more to it. There was also plenty of opportunity to network and hold long-planned meetings with other industry leaders.
Lisa and I had packed diaries, holding what will be key face-to-face talks with potential partners and cryptocurrency listing enterprises about the future development of Moni Talks. Once again, there was a lot of interest in what we are doing and our stance on responsibility and transparency in the #crypto space. As we launch a series of exciting new steps in our journey, those meetings will prove crucial to our direction and delivery.
For example, we kickstarted and cemented banking relationships and opportunities with the likes of damex , BVNK , and Clear Junction .
Another important takeaway from CryptoGib was seeing just how far ahead of the curve Gibraltar is when it comes to #cryptocurrency.
As a jurisdiction, it is open to opportunities, dynamic, and boast a vibrant crypto community. There are many places which could learn lessons from #gibraltar about seizing the initiative and benefitting from involvement in well-regulated and responsible crypto innovations.
There is also an impressive talent pool in Gibraltar, making it an obvious destination for start-ups and established businesses wanting to recruit and expand.
I hope that at next year’s CryptoGib we see many more representatives from jurisdictions who are open to learning about this ecosystem and serious about cryptocurrency engagement.
With our latest trip over, thoughts now return to our upcoming ‘away day’. As Lisa mentioned in a previous newsletter, we are taking the entire Moni Talks team to a countryside location in the Isle of Man for a day focused on reviewing our journey, taking stock of where we are, and ensuring everyone is fully aware of the coming steps in our development.
