Sustainable Business Digest - Issue 31

Sustainable Business Digest - Issue 31

In this week’s newsletter I wanted to re-share our recent issues of The Ethical Corporation magazine. All are freely accessible and provide in-depth, long-form analysis into some of the key issues impacting sustainable business.

Decarbonising Industries - in partnership with Siemens, this issue of The Ethical Corporation magazine looks at how companies in some of the highest-emitting sectors are grappling with the challenge of making deep emissions cuts this decade, and ask what it will take to get them on track to get to net zero on a time scale that matters. Decarbonising Cities – in this issue we showcase how cities the world over are rising to the climate challenge, from Singapore to Rio de Janeiro, Valletta to Dhaka, Athens to Nairobi, and Portland, Oregon to Toronto. And we report on the technologies and new business models that are helping them to achieve their goals, from mass timber construction to the use of digital twins and roll-out of electric buses. Health-Climate Nexus – earlier this year we took a deep-dive into issues ranging from Big Pharma’s drive to cut its carbon footprint, how solar power is enabling the rollout of malaria vaccines in Africa, the impacts of climate change on women in agricultural supply chains, and how investors are waking up to antibiotic resistance and ‘forever’ chemicals. Event updates of the week – The White House confirmed to Sustainability USA and attendees announced

Earlier this week we were excited to announce that Ali Zaidi, Assistant to the President and National Climate Advisor, White House has confirmed to speak on our Reuters IMPACT keynotes at Sustainability USA (7-8 October). To view the current confirmed speakers on our Reuters IMPACT keynotes, and the other three tracks, do click here

This week also saw us publish the first-round of confirmed attendees for both our Sustainability Europe and Sustainability USA events.

Both events are built on convening the senior leaders shaping the future strategies and investments impacting sustainable business – focussing on quality and seniority of attendee rather than size of event. Click below to get a glimpse at the types of companies and job functions attending both events:

That’s it for this week, I hope you have a lovely summers weekend ahead of you.
