Crush Your Recruitment Job Interview
How To Get As Many Job Offers As You Could Possibly Handle For Any Position In The Recruitment Industry

Crush Your Recruitment Job Interview

Everything you need to know about how to crush a job interview for?any position in the recruitment industry?is written below.

If you do the things outlined in this short article we 100% guarantee that you will get as many job offers as you'd like very quickly.

?

Let's jump straight into it.

?

  • Culture

Culture is one of the most important things for any recruitment business in the world. You could be a top biller but if you are not a nice person with good energy and clear intentions, nobody would want to work with you.?

My best advice to you is to show your personality as much as you can and make sure it shines through. Everyone wants to work with a good person, who is going to bring a good vibe to the office.?

Someone who is smart, sharp, down to earth, and professional, who wants to learn new things and improve.

?

  • Relationships

Build very strong relationships with your interviewers. Make them your best friends by the end of the interview. They need to connect with you on a personal and professional level. If they like you, they will say good things about you to the other management staff and you can progress to the next level?and get an offer.

?

  • Energy

You need to have a lot of it.?Come across as very motivated, ambitious, and hungry for money and success.?Be positive and happy, it’s contagious. Smile and be present. Bring good vibes with you and be energetic.?

As you know you need to have a lot of energy if you want to be successful in recruitment, so do your best to present yourself in that way. I highly recommend doing intermitted fasting during the days when you are interviewing.?

Avoid bad foods and alcohol the previous day and make sure you get a good night sleep. Exercising will help you a lot as well.

?

  • Solve their problem

The easiest?way?for you to get an offer from any recruitment business?out there?is to solve their problem. Their problem right now is?that?they can't find a good recruiter.?

?

They want a good biller and someone who can bring lots of new candidates and clients (if you are doing 360/BD).?

Someone who is smart, sharp, down to earth, professional and someone who is going to fit well in their culture and bring a very good vibe and good energy to the office. Solve that problem and you will get an offer.

?

  • Give?before you get

Focus on giving. The more you give, the more you are going to get - this is how this universe works I promise you. You will get a lot more if you first give them what they want?which is a good recruiter who can close deals.

Everyone else is like “what salary can you offer me, what benefits can you offer me, how much remote work can you give me….. me, me, me, me…" and it's very selfish..

A way better approach is to give them what they want first, which is a good recruiter who can get the job done. Just be that person. Give them what they want first and automatically you will get what you want. You can't go wrong with this approach!

?

  • Focus on adding value

The more value you add, the?higher your salary will be. Every recruitment business that's hiring wants someone who can bring something to the table from day one.?

?

So, you can say that you will bring your whole network of candidates on LinkedIn?and?that you will also reach out to your old clients and bring as many as you can. Maybe you know another recruiter looking for work and you will refer that person to them for free.?

?

You see how much you are giving them so far.. they will love you if you could do all of that. You can think of something else which you can give them that's going to add value and take their business to the next level.

?

  • Show interest

?

It's going to be much easier to get someone interested in you if you first show interest in them. It's just how people work.?

?

Imagine what happens when you see a dog on the street - usually the dog is so happy to see you that it will jump out of it's skin and that's why automatically you like the dog.

Same with people. Be interested in their brand and their vision.?

?

  • Sell yourself

?

And don't say anything that will make you look bad or put you in the lower position. Talk about your achievements and how you are better than the other applicants.?

?

You can mention how you've built a desk?from scratch?for example or how you have managed a high-performing team etc.

?

  • Listen

?

Listen to the interviewer very carefully (it sounds obvious but don't interrupt them), judge their question, and give your best answer.

?

  • Do research

?

Make sure that you know a lot about the?company?and the people who will interview you.?Look at their website, LinkedIn page, and Glassdoor reviews, Google them and find interesting things about them so you can impress them during the interview.

?

  • Dress up

?

Wear your best smart clothes. Do your hair and beard or make-up.

You only have one time to leave a good first impression! A lot of people say that looks don't matter however that's not true because we automatically like people who look and smell good.?

Put some time into your appearance.

?

  • Focus on how you say things

?

The energy behind your words is very powerful so use it to your advantage. Be confident but not too much. There is a fine line between positive confidence and arrogance.

?

  • Ask questions

?

The more the better. I recommend asking a few questions about the role, a few questions about the company, and a few questions about the interviewer.?

?

Make sure you ask meaningful questions and not something that you should've done your research on. It's going to say a lot about you by the questions you ask.

So don't ask how many people are working in the company because you can see that on LinkedIn and you should've researched it.

Ask good questions like: “What's the vision of your business? Where do you want to take this company in the next 10 years?"?

Meaningful questions are a must.

Pro tip:

You are offering yourself to those businesses and essentially you are the offer?so make them an offer so good they feel stupid saying no.

?

It's obvious that they will ask you questions so below I have included some of the most common questions with the best answers. They will 100% ask you these questions so you should prepare. Preparation is 90% of the battle.

?

Here are the questions:

?

  • Can you tell me more about yourself??

?

Here you need to tell them about your professional life and a bit about your personal life. Prepare a nice short pitch about you and sell yourself.

?

  • What's your reason for leaving your most recent role??

?

Make sure that you don't say anything bad about your last employer. Turn it into a positive.?

?

Example:

?

"I really liked the last company I worked at. Everyone was really nice, and they taught me a lot about recruitment, and I will be forever grateful but ..... 1. they don't offer remote work.. 2. they don't pay a lot of commission... 3. they don't want to promote me” etc.

Don't say stuff like: “The management team was horrible. The company is bad and the colleagues are not good.” This will make you look like it's never your fault and that you always have excuses for something.

Take ownership, be honest and try your best not to badmouth your previous employers.

?

  • How much are you billing???

?

Trust me, there is nothing better than a recruiter who knows their numbers. You need to give them a full breakdown of your billings. This is VERY IMPORTANT, and I guarantee you that you will get asked this question. So it's best to write down all your numbers so you can say it with confidence.

?

Example:

?

  • What's the split between your contract and perm desk??
  • How many perm deals per month or per year?
  • What are the salaries for your candidates??
  • What % do you charge the client??

I placed 10 Java Developers in London, on 50k salaries and we charged the client 20%.?

10 deals x 10k fees = 100k perm billings.

?

Same for contract.

?

  • How many runners do you have?
  • What's the day rate?
  • What's the margin?
  • What's the length of each contract??

I placed 10 Java Developers, each on 6 months contract, who are receiving $500 per day and we charged the clients $600 so the margin was $100 per day. $100 x 10 runners = $1,000 per day x 5 days per week = $5,000 per week x 24 weeks = $120,000 in contract fees. Mention if the contracts get extended and add the numbers.

If you are a leader mention?your team's billings?and how many people you are managing, ideally you will give a breakdown here as well.

I managed 5 people who were doing 1 placement per month etc.?

?

  • What are you looking for in your next role??

?

Here you need to have some clarity and be open and honest with them and with yourself.

?What's your vision for the future? Which markets you'd like to attack? What's your long-term plan?

?

  • How do you the job??

?

How do you find new clients or candidates,?how to do BD, how do overcome objections, how do you close,?how do you manage people (if you are a leader) etc?

?

  • Where do you want to be in the next 5 years?

The answer that worked best for me was: “I hope I'm here. Moving up the ranks, learning new things, and progressing with my successful career.”

?

At the end of the interview feel free to close them. You can ask your interviewer: “So, how did I do?”?

That way they will know that you are a good salesperson and it will give you bonus points.

Conclusion:

?

Imagine that you are the recruitment director, and you are looking to hire people for your company.?

Who would you want to hire??

A good biller.

Someone who can close deals. and make you money.

A recruiter?who is going to bring a lot of new happy clients (if you are 360 or?BD).?

A person?who is smart, sharp, down to earth, and professional, someone who wants to learn new things and keep improving.?

Someone who is going to fit well in the team and bring a very good vibe to the office.

Someone with ambition who is working hard and bringing new ideas to the business.

?

This is what they want. So just be that person and you will get offers.
