Cruising along !

Cruising along !

Have you read that story about a fighter jet and an Airbus a380? No? Here it goes- a fighter jet and an Airbus are flying at the same altitude and speed. The pilot in the fighter jet has some swag and shows it by flying up, down, and around the Airbus within seconds. After his small stunt, he contacts the Airbus pilot on radio and jokingly says ‘See, even when we are flying at the same height and speed, I am so flexible to go wherever I want, swoop in and out at will’. The Airbus pilot replies ‘hang on, let me show what I can do’. The fighter pilot is now curious and waits patiently. 10 mins have passed but the Airbus has not changed its course. Fighter pilot radios in and asks, ‘are you going to do something?’ to which the Airbus pilot replies ‘I just did, I went to the loo, filled a cup of coffee and grabbed a cupcake on my way back to my seat, all while flying at the same altitude and speed’.

Are you one of those who likes competition? It’s not a bad thing, isn’t it?

While you strive to stay ahead, it is also important to not lose your own personality. The way you walk, talk, read, write, and interact with people around you, is secretly building an image of you in their head and in the minds of people around you. How you maintain that image and build upon it, is also equally important while you stay the course of the competition. Not a single day is identical to another, so it is quite natural to feel you are lagging at times, low on confidence, confusion is creeping in, anxiousness builds, and you tend to sway off your intended path. During such time of distress don’t be bogged down by competition, just do your daily stuff, be consistent, and put on your autopilot mode. You are still flying at the same altitude and speed. Others may not see it, but in your head, you know you are the pilot of the Airbus a380, cruising along smoothly and at the same speed.
