CRUCIAL: You are not selling a product. You are selling an experience!

If you have your own business or even a side hustle, I'm sure you've asked yourself, "Why does someone buy X?" If you haven't asked that, I'd say it's time you start!?

At this point of my entrepreneurial journey, I've done hundreds of sales calls. I have mastered it to the point where just recently I found myself thinking, "This seems too easy. I must not be a master sales person. Selling my service must just be really easy and anyone can do it."?

However, I am routinely flabbergasted each time I get to be the prospect on someone else's sales call, and all they talk about the whole time is:?

- Themselves.?

- Their product's features.?

- Random conversation without getting to the point.?

- Trying to solve my problem right on the call.?

Often without ever taking my pulse, figuring out my pain points, what I want, why I'm on the call, who I want to be, where I want to go, etc.?

You see, sales is NOT about you OR your product/service. ?

It's about your prospect, the pain of being stuck where they are now and getting to where they want to go, being the person they want to be, or achieving X.?

If you can draw out these things, and position yourself as the bridge to get them to their desired state, you will have people happily handing over their credit cards eager for your help.?

And remember: ?

Don't be afraid to take control of the call. People like being guided!?

Don't be afraid of asking questions. People love talking about themselves!?

Don't be afraid of asking for the sale. People love shopping!?

Don't be afraid of someone saying yes. You are worthy of the sale!?

Great reminders, Amanda. It’s exciting to talk about our business. It’s our passion. But a prospect really just wants us to understand their pain and know that we have the ability to cure it.
