Please take just two minutes to read this crucial message. For the past 35 years, I have dedicated my career to eradicating sexual harassment in the workplace. This mission requires constant vigilance and unwavering commitment. Your awareness and action can significantly contribute to creating a safer and more respectful work environment for everyone.
It's disappointing to see such a lack of awareness and action regarding the new Worker Protection Act 2023. Despite having over 2,500 followers on this account and our immense efforts to inform each of you about this vital legislation, the response has been underwhelming. While a few replied with a vague "I'll look into it," the majority never responded.
Yesterday, I conducted a basic face-to-face training session on the new law with a company that employs 50 staff members. The attendees, aged between 21 and 45, included four management members.
The feedback I received was both astonishing and disheartening:
Not a single person was aware of the new legislation, let alone the old one. This level of resignation and lack of knowledge is unacceptable. We must spread awareness and ensure proper understanding and implementation of these protections. Supporting and informing each other is crucial to creating safer and fairer workplaces.
Remember, these “little people” could be your daughter, sister, son, brother, husband, wife, or mother.
