The Crow
I had to hurry through the morning dew...
I heard the cry of a crow and threw a stone
- maybe I should have taken a closer view,
but I was in a hurry, being all alone...
It's been a long and hard day,
so I intend to finally go home
I am being on my way,
to the place I used to roam
From somewhere I hear a crow cry,
from somewhere in a distance
It sounds a bit like a soul's sigh
- if there is such an existance
I feel the wind blow,
as I make my way through the cold of the night
Again I hear the cry of the crow
- I look up to see it's shadow in the moonlight
The way seems longer with each step that I go,
tonight it nearly seems there is no end:
Even time seems to be going slow,
a prayer to heaven is what I send
I hear the cry of this crow again,
I look up to see it sitting on a rooftop
Why does this keep on to remain?
This following game some time needs to stop....
I see it sitting on the grave,
it is following me all the time through
- I want to get to some point that's safe:
By now I don't know anymore what I should do
I should be arriving home now soon
I am running, but I seem not to go anywhere:
I hear the crow, see her flying in the light of th moon
- by now it's friends, too, are somehow there
I reach my home - but something is strange:
I can even feel the black bird's stare
To me it seems something needs to reaarrange
- they sit on my roof, on the trees - just everywhere
They simply sit and stare at me
- I don't dare to even look back
It's somewhere else I want to be,
but it's too late - they are starting their attack
