THIS WAY UP Team
Team of experienced mental health professionals at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD). THIS WAY UP is a joint NFP initiative of UNSW & St Vincents Hospital, Sydney.
In a two part series, Dr Tim Koh from the Good GP podcast chats to THIS WAY UP’s Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Mike Millard, about internet-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (iCBT) and our evidence-based online treatments for anxiety and depression.
In?part one?Dr Mike discusses how iCBT works, and the rigorous trials and real-world testing our programs go through.?In?part two,?he takes us through THIS WAY UP’s online treatments and his go-to program when starting out with clients.
“I take it back to medication, in the sense that if you find a new medication, you have to prescribe it to five or so people before you realise who is going to benefit from it and who isn’t. Internet treatment is exactly the same. The program I use the most is our transdiagnostic program - our mixed anxiety and depression program, and that’s a reflection of what’s most common in the community… it’s my go-to program.”
The Good GP?is?an education podcast for busy GPs. It is brought to you by Dr Tim Koh, Dr Krystyna DeLange and Dr Sean Stevens, in collaboration with?RACGP WA.?
