Crossing Boundaries - at the interface of architecture and engineering in today’s construction industry

Following on directly on from LFA 2019 and this year’s theme of Boundaries, this free event hosted by De Ruyter Netwerk features a panel discussion chaired by Daphne Thissen that will examine boundaries—how they are changing or even disappearing—in the interfaces between engineering and architecture in the construction industry today. Crossing Boundaries will raise interesting questions and offer expert insight into some of the key current issues in construction and the professional disciplines upon which it relies.

The panel discussion with Architect Edward Marchand, Associate Director at Bennetts Associates, and two other panelists: architect and Associate at Hutchinson & Partners, Sabine Hogenhout and Luca Frasca, Senior Associate Structural Engineer at Alan Baxter Ltd. A key area of the discussion will focus on pressing issues and new evolutions in the way that architects and engineers collaborate on large-scale building projects.

This free event is open to the public. Whilst it is obviously most likely to appeal to those in architecture, engineering, construction, design and related professions, it is not restricted to any particular sector. However, De Ruyter Netwerk urges that you confirm your attendance via their Eventbrite page, since spaces are limited. The Eventbrite page also gives fuller details of the network, the invited panellists and chair.

An important part of the network’s events is the informal networking over drinks, this time in the attractive surroundings of SpacesFarringdon. So get it in your diary, book your place online and come and meet some interesting new contacts.
