Crossfire War=Rapid Fire News-West Asia Theatre: Syria-The Diseased State

Damascus: This is an excellent and courageous article from DW on the constant cruelty and oppression still continuing in Syria. And even more diseased is the international community which accepts this as status quo. Bashar al-Assad has not been a real head of state ever since he embraced Russia Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov several years ago seeing Moscow as salvation.

Russia and governments in the region have been using Syria as a jihad wasteland. Russia had been at war with Islamic radicals in Chechnya ever since 1994, the region is a crossroads of energy pipelines in the Caucasus, but when Chechen fighters turned up in Syria all violence in the Caucasus ceased. They arrived in Turkey and Ankara sent them on or from whatever part of the Islamic world radical fighters and groups came from. Even many generals from Iran were killed in Syria thinking they were headed for a fun military adventure.

They were killed by Syrian groups armed by the U.S. through Jordan-Saudi Arabia while at the same time Moscow informed Israel of the precise location of military targets in Syria directly controlled by Teheran. To this day those targets come under regular attacks from Israel's Air Force.

But the international community which accepts Bashar al-Assad is just as diseased if not more so than he is.
