Cross the Threshold

Often, you just need to take that first step or make that initial leap to get you going. Doubt and fear are there to hold you back from whatever is perceived as a risk. But as soon as you take that first step, from what is known to you towards what is unknown, you’re moving into possibility.

Instead of fear, try to think of the feeling as excitement. Excitement that things are about to change. Excitement that you’re becoming someone who dares to take that step when it would be easier not to. The excitement of being on your own journey, deciding to live and not just exist, daring to thrive rather than merely survive.

Sometimes there’s a need to take massive action and be all dramatic and statement-y about shit. But more often than not, you just have to take the next small step, then the next, and so on.

The succession of small steps soon mounts up and you start to increasingly put distance between where you were and where you want to be. This is how you walk 1,000 miles, one step at a time.

As long as you keep moving forward, you’ll continue to get closer to where you want to be.
